This year we branch out and launched a compassion campaign Fulfill a wish (FFAW) under the umbrella of Help trust. FFAW seeks to actualize the wishes of children and inspire people to indulge in providing happiness through act of giving. Since the wishes enlisted are of children with restricted access to resources, FFAW also caters as an avenue to instill confidence in them and encourage them towards a bright future.

  • January - Livelihood Training Center started
  • March - Launch of Fulfill a wish
  • May - children touch the sky
  • June - Sarvanan on his way to success
  • July - launch of another Evening school

Success stories

Sarvanan's leap of faith makes his dream come true!

A while ago if someone had dared saying we were not going to win the battle we have started with our Evening School, we would have probably turned our backs and moved forward, which, in fact, we did. We fought the poverty, the illiteracy, the corruption, and natural disasters; even during those many times we had no support. Looking back, we realize that our efforts were not in vain, that we are a part of the success story: an Evening School success. Saravanan is perhaps our great achievement. Like all the other children, when he first came to the Evening School, he lacked resources, starting with education, money, etc. Nonetheless, through an assiduous effort, Saravanan is now likely to become the first Engineer from the village. L. Siva Saravanan, at 16 years, has had great performance in school and is now going to pursue his studies in the University College of Engineering, Nagercoil. Saravanan is a fighter. He presents us with a belief in ones own capabilities. Fighting all odds not only has he secured himself a seat in the reputed engineering college but has also managed to bag a scholarship to cover his entire education expense. All of us at HELP Trust are very proud of him and wish him a successful journey ahead!

Others

Uma is our another star performer. She is currently studying B.Sc. from Anna college determine to secure her future through educational and financial independence. Our driving force comes 5 from our children’s achievements. Yet again they made us proud by securing extraordinary marks in secondary school examination. Suba made us proud by securing 92% followed by 6 Ranjith 88%, Arul Raj and Vasanth 85%, and Selvakumari 83%. We wish our children at HELP Trust a very bright future and successful journey ahead.

Livelihood training center

Livelihood training center aims to establish the children as financially independent adults contributing to the society at large. Providing education to these children loses its meaning if they cannot be engaged into some financially productive activities after schooling.

Help trust added another feather to its cap with the successful launch of Livelihood training center at Kavalkinaru, Tirunelveli Dist., Tamil Nadu. Since its establishment in January 2013, center is working with 12 young adults to launch them on the path of financial independence. Center provides IT training to the students empowering them to take up work instantly after passing out and also contribute back to the development of the village.

New Evening school

We believe in a holistic development of children. Turning away from their responsibilities will never help them sustain their growth. Evening school provided room to children where they can come and fulfill their dream of education and bright future after contibuting towards their family. Our confidence took leaps and bounds when we inaugurated our second evening school at Radhapuram Taluk, Tirunelveli Dist. The village has a primary school which enrolls on 34 children who are also not regularly attending the classes due to their work in the morning ours. Evening school plans to work with the govt. school and also help in improvement of children’s attendance and hence impacting the learning of children.
